Another stereotype that is common is that we play the bagpipes, which is similar to the stereotype that we run about the hills and the glens with Kilts, and that we live in small village huts. Bagpipes is something people can learn alright, there are certain people that play the bagpipes, again this is not something I would find derogatory or something I would feel shameful for. Maybe it’s because I’m proud of it’s uniqueness, if you were to go anywhere in the world, doesn’t matter if they were invented elsewhere, the Scots have made it part of their culture. You hear the bagpipes, you instantly know it associates with the Scots, and that is something we are very proud of.
